Scott and I decided to take a much-needed break this past Saturday to attend the Offspring/311 concert. It was a lot of fun!

Scott finished off the upstairs flooring with white quarter round, which looks amazing. I noticed that Colby was still struggling with the new, smoother floors, so I took the rug from our master bedroom and put it in the hallway for better traction. Not to mention, it also helps keep the scuff marks to a minimum!

We then took our flooring project downstairs (finally!). We moved all of the heavy boxes of laminate into the kitchen, then began to rip up more carpet.

Appetizing, huh?

But on Sunday, we were back in the saddle...

We then took our flooring project downstairs (finally!). We moved all of the heavy boxes of laminate into the kitchen, then began to rip up more carpet.
It was considerably harder to remove the carpet tack strips from the cement slab, and our efforts left a lot of chips in the cement. On the plus side, there are no staples holding down the carpet padding like there were upstairs, so there was a lot less effort needed once the carpet tack strips were up.
And so, here is what our dining room currently looks like.
