A Quick Solution for a Digital Photo Problem

Like many people with far too many digital photos, I seldom actually print them out.  This leaves my home almost completely devoid of pictures, and I’ve been too preoccupied to really do too much about it.  But after being reminded at the fridge once again that I’m also far behind at taking down the holiday cards I received from friends and family (hello, it’s August), I decided to kill two birds with one stone frame.

The picture frame I used had also been hanging around in the kitchen since the holidays and had only been displaced when I planted succulents on the windowsill (which I’ve now moved into the study-o).  But since the red mat would not fit in the rest of the house’s color scheme, I turned to an old friend – paint.  You can see in this picture that I got started before I remembered to take a photo.  Oops.

Painting the picture frame took only a few minutes, which I used to trim down the card.  A little dry time and reassembly, and I’m suddenly no longer a house without (framed) pictures on display.

I even remembered another set I received as a gift from Mom over the holidays – a side by side picture of Charlie as a pup and the photo I took of her for my Christmas card (this post has strangely mentioned the holidays three times now.  Weird).

See?  Push yourself to take the first step, and it’s like you can’t stop.

  1. Im horribly guilty of this. My husband and I even had an excellent photoshoot a year ago. No pictures ended up in our house!

  2. This isn't a problem I have (because I scrapbook and make cards) but what a great solution! BTW, loving your blog.

  3. Thank you! What kind of cards do you make? Personal or business use? Just curious – I love paper crafts.
