These photos are somewhat terrible. But when you’re accidentally up late (I swear, I looked at the clock and it blinked from 10 PM to 1 AM), you take a couple of quick photos of your progress and call it a night. And then you deliriously name your post after a Jim Croce song.
I will say though, I LOVE the way that the hallway is now much brighter – even at night. And I have BIG plans for the two empty wall spaces on either side of the guest bathroom door (when heading up the stairs, this wall is the first one you see, and it’s the same wall you see as you’re leaving the master bedroom, where I’m standing).
That unpainted side on the left is where I realized I need to caulk around the doorway. Apparently, I missed that when I first painted the house. The new paint is also exposing how aged that ceiling still is (my family helped me paint just about every square inch of ceiling when moving in, but we didn’t have the scaffolding until several weeks later, so the ceiling in the hallway was left untouched). Guess I still have a few more strokes of the paintbrush to go. Funny how you can rediscover things about your old house, right? But, since progress is progress, it never hurts to take a step back and be glad that this:
…is now nearly gone. Lighter and brighter? Don’t mind if I do!
