DIY  LIGHT POLE PLANTER

SUPPLIES NEEDED

5/8 Plywood

1X4s

Exterior wood glue

Finishing nails

Cicular saw

Miter saw

Quick-set concrete

Metal fence post

Caulk

Step 1

Anchor poles in quick-set concrete

Step 2

Assemble planter boxes.

Build the base.

Step 3

Cut twelve 1×4 pieces to length for EACH planter at 17 3/8″ long.

Step 4

Cut 2 strips of plywood supports at 15 3/8″ and attach, parallel, along the bottom of the planter.

Step 5

Cut 2 more pieces of plywood 15 3/8″ long and attach them to the top of the supports installed in step 3.

Step 6

Spray paint planter and poles in the color of your choice.

Step 7

Set planters where you want them. Once you put the pole in they will be hard to move.

Step 8

Stabilize planter and set poles straight

I recommend adding gravel to make sure the planter won't tip over

Step 9

Add plants

Add landscaping fabric on top of rocks to keep soil from falling through

Step 10

Add a hole at the top of the pole on one side and insert cup hook.  String up your lights and enjoy!
