DIY WOODEN  AIR CONDITIONING SCREEN

Hide that ugly AC unit  with an easy to make wooden air conditioning screen.

SUPPLIES

Cedar fence pickets Pre-treated 2x2s Clamps Liquid Nails Fuze*It Level Small garden shovel  All-weather fasteners 

CUT THE DOG-EARED ENDS OFF THE PICKETS.

Don't throw them away, you'll need them later!

CREATE THE SIDE PANELS

Determine the length for your AC unit, then cut 5 boards per panel for 3 panels.

CUT THE POSTS FOR THE PANELS

Cut pressure-treated 2X2s to create 4 posts

Begin with the top piece.  Carefully glue then clamp to make it square with the vertical 2X2 post.

Assemble

Remember those dog-ear pieces?  Use them now as spacers in between your boards.

USE TRIMMED PIECES AS SPACERS

CREATE ZIG ZAG LAYOUT FOR SCREEN

Depending on the layout of your backyard you may only need two panels.

FLIP THE  SCREEN OVER

Add the third panel if needed by working on the screen right side up.
