Sooner or later, even the newest homes will start to break down and show its age. In my case, this house already had 30 years of falling into disrepair before I got a hold of it. But, there is hope: a lot of these home repairs and maintenance duties, you can do yourself! And if I can do it, anyone can. As long as you have the right tools and have done your research, things like repairing holes in drywall or hot water heater maintenance can be solved in a snap without the added expense of hiring a handyman.
