I completely 100% embrace the whole “be proud of your DIY accomplishments” thing. I talk about each project we’ve done with pride to my friends and family, but there are certain times and places where I don’t think it really fits.

Take for example this vase and statue that I recently spotted at Homegoods. I mean… really? In case you can’t tell from these phone pics, that’s a vase made to look like an electrical cord wound into a column. See the, er, female plug on the top and the male plug on the bottom?

And next to it is a paintbrush on a stick. As art.

I’m proud of my paintbrush and all that it’s seen, but I don’t exactly plan on bronzing it. When my brushes are stiff and covered in white paint to this point, they go into the trash. Think of the fortune I’m missing out on by not combining them with the twigs in my backyard and selling them on Etsy.

I just chuck ’em or clean ’em for reuse. What a fool. When I do what I should always do (and I’m never forgetful and just leave it to dry to a rock-like state.. ha!), the brushes go right back into the garage with the rest of my paint supplies. Though, I suppose if people really do consider it decorative, maybe I won’t be quite so quick to put things away next time. I’ll reuse my empty paint buckets as plant stands and leave the paint splattered tarps out as as my area rug. As it turns out, I really don’t need the rug I wanted to save up for… I’ll just do what we DIY-ers do best, and use what I’ve got!
Hilarious!

We are fools cleaning up after our projects! Fools, I tell you!
So hilarious! Seriously who thought of that and why? :)
Hahah!!! These are so awkward!
Is it wrong that the paintbrush on a stick reminded me to put on my makeup this morning????
I would like to create that little “vase” on the cheap, though. quirky!
