house exterior winter 2011

It rarely snows in Atlanta, but last night, the sky opened up and delivered about 3 – 7 inches of snow (depending on what side of Atlanta you were on). My initial reaction was of course to take as many photos as would fit onto my memory card.

If you follow on Twitter or Facebook, you may have seen an early photo last night of our back yard:

When morning came around (and I didn’t have to go into work – yay for a day off), I got a chance to take a few (hundred) more photos of our little house covered in a blanket of white.

Colby enjoyed the white stuff, but wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. He was even hesitant to wander out the door at first, but we were able to convince him that it was a lot of fun.

I was even able to take this video of him fa-REAKing out at the snow. I even got another, but as things seem to happen around here, the funnier version seems to be completely messed up. I’ll try to take more video this afternoon.

According to all weather reports, it’s going to stay frozen in our little neck o’ the woods for the rest of the day, so I’m going to take it easy, cook a late breakfast, and put some more wood in the now functional fireplace. Hot chocolate, anyone?
