At this moment, I’m kind of at a loss for words.

The first time I was ranked as a top blogger by an online site, I was so (very) excited. I stumbled on it after looking through my Stats and seeing that I was getting traffic from a site I’d never been to, and shocker, it was because people were comparing me to some of the big boys:  Young House Love, Re-Nest (the cousin of Apartment Therapy), and the IKEA Fans website.

Agained. It happened. No wait, that’s not right…

Ok, I’m trying to stay calm and coherent about all of this. Assembling a sentence feels like real work when your brain is buzzing.

But, what I meant to say is, it happened again. I was picked out of the bunch of quite wonderful (and in my humble opinion, many more deserving) websites and ranked as a top home improvement blog of 2010. This time, it was from a website called Remodeleze. Again, I’ve been compared to sites that get millions of hits per month. I’m just under 10,000. What is leaving my mouth agape is the incredibly flattering paragraph written about little, tiny, insignificant me (or us, rather):

Why We Love Them:

This new blog already has a warm spot deep down in our tool belt wrapped hearts. We mentioned before how much we love being able to follow homeowners from beginning to end with their projects. We love watching this couple transform their ugly duckling to a beautiful swan, one room at a time. If you have time to post it, then we have time to drool over it (that’s what we always say, anyway) and The Ugly Duckling House definitely gives us plenty to *oooh* and *ahhh* over. Their personal stories are also very entertaining and we’re even kind of in love with their cookie stealing pup. What sets this couples blog apart from the rest is their “lessons learned” page. Whether it’s a glowing product recommendation or services they regret paying for – it’s all helpful, especially when it involves a contractor or service to complete a task. We hope you’ll join us in following these two as they transform and learn a thing or two about their new (to them) home.

Holy cow! Even Colby got a nod. I’m pinching myself. I seldom blush, but this made my face hot for a second; then I just donned my very stylish perma-grin instead. I’ve been wearing it all day.

The first time could have easily been my one flickering blip on the home improvement radar. Now there are two places out in the middle of the dub-dub-dub telling me I’m on the right track. Now I want more. I want to do more. I’ve got motivation coming out of my (sorry I’m excited, it’s like word vomit right now)… nevermind.

So, on behalf of myself, Scott, and our cute pooch, THANK YOU to my lovely readers who make things like this possible. It’s you who I write this for, and you who I’m constantly trying to impress. Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement and advice, especially when I do the opposite, and you still follow.

I’m updating my Links page to include this and two new blog awards I’ve received from Tara Being Tara and Carol at Antique Texan. If you haven’t been for a visit to their sites yet, check ’em out.
