I’ll admit it. I work. (Shocker) Yes, it’s true. I have a full-time job that keeps me distracted from an otherwise productive day at home remodeling the hizzy. Am I too white to say that? I think I might be. My “no sun, no spray tan” status as an Ideal Image customer (where they prefer you to be white as a ghost during treatments) would probably put me in the can’t-say-hizzy category. TMI. Moving on.
Anyway, I’d like to bring your attention to the fact that I work. And in doing so, it means the time I can dedicate to home remodeling is usually crammed into the weekend hours. While I do my best to photo, photo, photo, edit, upload, write, and post, I find that Monday is often the most difficult day for me to get my act together. That being said, I’d now like to bring to your attention a new feature post that I welcome you to participate in.
I need inspiration on Mondays. I need something to talk about when I’ve run out of steam or haven’t gotten the last picture edited for my last tutorial. I need something to get me through the week and spur me to the next weekend for more projects. I need your photos!
Each week, I’d like to start featuring a design by one of my readers. It can be a before & after, a mood board created by you (such as here and here), or even a tutorial that you think would be fun for others to try (though, a warning, I probably won’t feature something that’s been done a bajillion times – like a DIY sunburst mirror). We’re talking daring here, so make it something wow worthy. Color, your own patterns, painting a surface that wasn’t supposed to be… anything you think fits. To participate, all you have to do is send me an email with the words “Daring Design” and the kind of room/subject of your post, along with a link (or photos if you don’t have your own blog).
And really, that’s the whole point of having a blog about home design. Sharing one’s own work with those who have the same passion for DIY. So, send me your pics. I dare ya.
What a great idea. I can't wait to see what projects your readers come up with. I'm a new follower. Hope to see you over at DIY Home Sweet Home. I am having a link party today and every Monday so be sure to stop by and see all of the great projects.
