Something about installing the toilet in the guest bathroom last week put me in a much more relaxed state of mind when working on the house. For one, the pace has become – dare I say it – almost laid back. Instead of feeling like I need to pressure myself to get something done, I have allowed myself to simply enjoy a few of the perks of having a semi-made house. I’ve even managed to put all of my dishes into the dishwasher every day and finish my homework before midnight.

I know. Crazytown.

But before you think I’m totally blowing off my projects, here’s a little goofy snapshot I took tonight in the guest bathroom:  my knife wouldn’t fit into the narrow sliver of wall between the shower tile and door frame. For the longest time, I’ve been avoiding this part of the wall because every tool was too wide. Then in a moment of frustration, I found my answer:  a piece of another tool that has no business scooping joint compound.

Use what ya got, right?
