Last week I showed you how we cut into our fireplace to prepare for our new floors, and we began installation. Would you like to see where we are now?
I’d like to brag that this was a cakewalk for getting the pieces right the first time around the fireplace, but then I’d be… well, lying. Even though we cut underneath the hearth, it still proved to be difficult to get the flooring perfectly straight across the length of the entire floor going from the dining room into the living room.
Scott was frustrated, and we wound up with a lot of “oops” pieces strewn across the front lawn.
Oh, did I not mention that before? Scott does all of his cutting right in front of the house. I know the neighbors must love walking by with their dogs, seeing cloud of sawdust right on our front lawn in this Georgia heat. But we only have a one-car garage. It only takes a matchstick for the space to feel cramped, so Scott does his thang in front of the house.
It’s worth it though. :) Happy Friday, everyone!
Ohh, been there, done that. I think we've managed to get our neighbors used to our random home improvement projects done out in our driveway. Tiling, painting, sanding, woodwork, laminate flooring… they're always coming over to ask what we're working on now. :) lol
That new floor is GORGEOUS! I can't wait to see it all done and installed!
