Kidding. But seriously though, it’s been a long while since I’ve updated you on the exterior painting progress. And maybe it won’t look like much in the way of a true before and after, but that’s because it isn’t. It’s progress. After painting, peeling, scraping, caulking, and painting again, the front stoop is looking… dare I say it… much improved.
Just a few short weeks ago, here is what the exterior looked like when you approached the front door:
And after long evenings in a mist of bug repellent and paint, I really like what I’m seeing:
Of course, there are still plenty of things that need to be done (like cleaning up that yard!), but it’s a great feeling to know I’m getting somewhere. I’d like to say that I’m getting even more done tonight, but in Atlanta, we’re still dealing lots of wet weather thanks to Tropical Storm Lee. Almost instantaneously, this new storm front has brought with it much cooler temps – from the 90s to the 60s in less than a week!
It’s likely I’ll have to wait it out by working on interior projects in the meantime. Which means my goal from yesterday actually is, to some degree (pun intended), getting accomplished. Baby steps!
Well, my comment just disappeared as it was trying to save, so I'll try again. I have no life once I leave work every day, so I'll be glad to help out in any way I can. Unfortunately, I can't help out until after November (this is my busy time at work). But I'm game for whatever you want me to do – interior painting, hauling off trash, scrubbing floors/walls, whatever. I'm really good at doing the “cutting in” for painted walls, so would be glad to do that also. Just give me a holler if you're interested.
Thanks so much for the offer! You know, a painting party isn't a bad idea :)
The stone showing through is beautiful. This project is indeed worth finishing.
