This week, I’m feeling the need to create. Perhaps it’s the fact that I’m done with Christmas shopping and have been elbow-deep in golden wrapping paper cuttings, or perhaps it was the weekend baking (I know, shocking. I baked something other than a hot mess. More on that later though).
I woke up this morning feeling like I wanted to shrug off my usual uniform of sweaters and work jeans and put on a party dress. Wear red lipstick. Don some gay apparel, just like the song demands (between ordering me to deck the halls and guests refusing to leave until they get figgy pudding – whatever that is – Christmas songs can be somewhat bossy, don’t you think?).
I guess what I’m saying is I’m feeling the need for some inspiration. With only ten days until Christmas, it will be nice to get lost in the glow for a few days (and eat about a dozen varieties of cookie). So if you’ve got some holiday photos to share, I’d love to see ’em. I’ll have a fun Christmas project to share with you before week’s end too. Happy Monday, folks!
Those look delicious! Can you share the recipe?
I’ve got lots of pictures from our baking, but I had to wait on Mom for permission to share the family recipe. Once I get the all-clear, I’ll post that and another cookie recipe.
Those little pastries look really yummy! I am glad to know getting all holiday things done is possible! You give me hope! have yet to get my tree up, bake or shop! Why? Because half of last week and all weekend was spent on building my 4 year old grandson a new bed that has to stay a surprise until Christmas Eve! He lives with me and he thinks Santa sent elves to do something in his room. Truly a miracle if I pull this off, but worth it every time he thinks he hears a hammer with jingle bells! Only 9 days for me to do that AND all the normal stuff! No stress there! Look forward to the craft post. Merry Christmas!
That sounds like so much fun! I’m sure all your efforts will be worth it. Lots of luck pulling it off!
Yum yum those polish kolashes looks really good, it’s good you have done on your Christmas shopping, I haven’t,
thanks for this post.
Merry Christmas!!
I threw together some hot chocolate mason jars for my coworkers last night. Not bad for under $5 a gift! https://s3.amazonaws.com/pushbullet-uploads/ujw3jEL8Eay-AHCfZHQX8pEuCXiBZ2a5Fya9dfZpjNdz/20141219_065729.jpg
OMG! How can you post that photo without giving a recipe for it? i am Polish and my mouth craves these kolaches. My dad says “not for a Polish stomach!” when Momma fixes him something that doesn’t look appetizing. So, needless to say, i would love to fix him some Polish kolaches! I know he wouldn’t say, “not for a Polish stomach!”
I’ll definitely have the recipe ready to post soon!
