I have said on more than one occasion that I have project A.D.D. (For a brief moment, I was going to call it “PADD” for short. And then I realized that referring to myself as “succumbing to PADD” or “it’s PADD time again” would make me sound like I am really over-sharing).

My project A.D.D. is the reason why I can’t keep my house clean. I stop and start so frequently you’d think I was my old Mercury Sable (ba-dum-bum). And not keeping the house clean is the reason why I can’t take updated pictures for the house tour. It’s a domino effect.

I guess what I’m saying is that I’m at it again. All thanks to this picture:

Which then led to this picture:

But upwards of $500 for a breathtaking sputnik chandelier is not in The Ugly Duckling House budget. So instead, I stayed up way too late on Pinterest and then went out the next day to get these:

It won’t really be the sputnik fixture of my dreams, but it will be amazing. And I still have just as many additional pieces to pick up on my next shopping trip (I bought out the store’s supply). But I’ll save myself about $450. That’s a lot of beer money. Stay tuned.

  1. You have to rock these lights with the proper surroundings, and they have to fit the owner's personality. For myself, I am more of a traditional type of girl but with a twist. This is too much “out there” for me. But I want to see it in your kitchen! yes.

  2. Woman! You gotta work on those stairs so that Kit doesn't kick your ass. … although I am intrigued to see this fixture of yours.

    1. Don't worry… Sunday's my only day free this week, and it's full of staircase to-dos!

  3. i like them both and can't WAIT to see yours. that first one actually gave me, like, light-lust. i just can't. handle. the beauty. good luck! :)

  4. I'm obsessed with atomic light fixtures and am super excited to see what you come up with, because I've wanted to DIY one forever but keep chickening out.

  5. Oh my! This scares me!! I'm so excited to see what you come up with! I like your new affiliate ads too [well… they're new to me- maybe because I'm always reading on my phone]!

And I'm so glad I'm not the only one with add- I try to decide on two rooms but I found this on sale or got the itch to tackle that… It's sick.
