Originally, I planned on this wonderful reveal to all of you to show of how I enhanced (prettied up? cute-ified?) the dog dish stand that we made for Colby. I even hinted about it a few weeks ago.

But so far, all I’ve been able to do is paint the legs sunshine yellow with some acrylic patio paint I had in my craft room.

Do I love it? Of course. That’s not the problem though.

This is.

This little ‘oops’ mistake that was made when Scott accidentally drilled all the way through the wood (we were using double-ended screws to connect the legs to the top, making it necessary to pre-drill holes for the final step) has me stumped. I patched the hole, but I need to find something to put over it to hide the filler.

I can’t find an inspiring graphic or a stencil at the craft store that I’d like to use. I’ve simply reached “designer’s block”. It will come to me in time, but for now, I’m finding that my stalled project can be useful serving another purpose as my laptop stand.

It’s actually the perfect height, allows me to still see the TV, and keeps the heat of the laptop off my legs. I haven’t brought myself to actually try to eat while it’s on the bed, though.

Because that would be weird.

  1. Colby kindly requests that you let him have his table back.

His rational: his life expectancy is much shorter and therefore each day you use it to “keep your legs cool” is a much larger % of his life than yours.
