I wanted to decorate the Ugg-Duck to look like a gingerbread house with its new paint job (actually, that wasn’t the original intention, but once the idea was planted, it stuck). Instead, I’m making an actual gingerbread house look kind of like the Ugg-Duck.

I picked up the kit from Target for less than $15. It included pre-baked gingerbread, pre-made icing, a tray to get everything standing, and plenty of candy. All except the candy canes made it onto the house – they were unfortunately broken, so they were used elsewhere (to satisfy a sweet tooth).

Building it was a lot of fun, and it’s been a while since I had a good ol’ fashioned craft project (only this was the edible kind). Don’t worry about me getting into the pastry business, though. While I may have a few decorative talents, decorating with icing isn’t one of them.
