No more projects, Sarah. You’re starting school in the spring and you barely have enough time as it is to prepare for it and finish up the current projects on the house.

I love/hate that there are so many great ideas on the blog. Like this one from CG:

I love that she turned simple IKEA bookshelves into built-ins. I love how polished they look.

I hate that now I want to do this to this wall in my living room. No, not want. Must.

I know I’m not the only one who feels like this sometimes. You’re going along, minding your own business, happy with the to-do list as it stands, and then BAM – project list gets longer. Before you know it, you’re buying supplies for a project that doesn’t exist yet, or planning your budget around this new addition.

So, what’s the fix? Do you budge on your list, or do you have a sit-down with yourself and sternly scold yourself for all of the oooos and aaaahs you just made for something you know you don’t have the time for?

Sometimes, it’s hard to find the motivation to begin on the next task. And sometimes, it’s even harder not to. Even if I were lightning fast at getting all of my wanted projects done, I would still have an appetite for more. I am a gluttonous DIYer :)

But dammit, I really want built-ins now.

  1. Pinterest has really thrown a wretch in my to-do list because there are soooo many things I have now added or changed. But it has also provided tons of inspiration for things I was really stuck on. Now if I just had all the time and money in the world to do it all…

  2. Ahh, love it all! Love the blog, love the work you are sharing with the rest of us! We live in a too-small townhouse and are itching to get our own home. I'd be happy with a fixer-upper but I'd probably end up making it look worse than when I started. :)
