Okay, so that was a lame intro, but hear me out. In the past, I’ve never done a monthly wrap-up, but I’ve decided to start. With school coming up in the spring and my normal nine-to-five job (which turns into more like eight-to-seven some days), finding motivation to press on with projects will be a little harder. My monthly wrap-ups will be my way of showing myself that I really have made progress – even when it seems like all I’ve managed to do is order pizza and watch Netflix.
So I guess what I’m saying is that this is more for me than for you, but maybe you missed a life-changing post and now have a second chance to catch it.
Totally kidding. There’s nothing life-changing about this blog. Though if it were, I’d like to introduce you to a friend of mine – he has an opening for Monday afternoon sessions.

Anywho, enough rambling – onto the wrap-up! During October, I…
… completed a front door makeover including the removal of the storm door.
…went to the Solar Decathlon in Washington, DC and got some great DIY ideas.
…discovered the mailbox was knocked over, so my Dad and I put in a new one.
…painted over the door knocker and house numbers to match the exterior lighting.
…went to the Country Living Fair and snagged a great old crate (more on what I’ve done with it coming up this month).
…found out I was accepted into grad school (woo-hoo!)
…got rid of some overgrown bushes on the side of the house, and last but not least, got the entire house a new paint job (Thanks again, Dad! You’re the best!) and continued on with the trim.
Holy crap, I actually did get a lot done this month after all. Awesome – my motivation is working already! What about you? Was October a really productive month for you as well?
