How did you celebrate NYE? I spent mine in the rain on a houseboat with a few friends at the lake.

This smiling fool is my friend, Seth. He’s hilarious. And very huggy.

The night started with an amazing steak dinner. I’m one of those people who normally eats steak with ketchup (shaddup, I can hear you groaning – I’ve been eating steak that way since I learned the word steak). But this steak was amazing and ketchup-free. And the chef’s husband insisted on being in my picture.

I didn’t know most of the people in our little party at the beginning of the night. But they were so generous and friendly, and it wound up being a fantastic way to welcome 2013.

Except for sleeping. When it was time to go to bed, I chose a room in the houseboat next door (which belonged to another friend). Big mistake. There was a tiny leak in the sunroof directly above me, which drip drip dripped on me all night. I woke up with my butt soaked in rainwater. Just my butt. Like I peed myself. Which is just so hilariously me for something like that to happen.

Hope you had a wonderful New Years Eve! How did you celebrate it? Did anything weird happen to you? I can’t be the only one who had an *interesting* wake up on New Years Day.

Sarah

  1. I was going to say the same thing about your hair – I'm so jealous of the waves, it's so pretty!

My New Year's Eve was pretty low-key… as in, I did some laundry, turned my laptop on to watch the one-minute-countdown of the ball dropping on YouTube, and then went to bed. Haha. Sounds like you had a good one though! I love your blog by the way – this is my first time commenting, but I visit daily :)(Kind of stalk, actually? I am DYING to see that dining room get painted!! Hahaha)
