I have a lot of travel books. I also just realized (as of writing this post) that a large percentage of the books on my shelf are also of the memoir variety (Jenny Lawson, Augusten Burroughs, etc.). And I also have a collection of books related to advertising (I have no background in the field – I just found a book about advertising in the 1920s due to an obsession with everything from the 1920s, which has now resulted in yet another collection of advertising books).

Anywho, I’ve sort of gotten off-topic, because this post is about books that aren’t on my shelf: design books. It’s strange how obsessed I’ve been regarding this whole DIY home remodeling thing, and yet I own approximately zero books on the subject. And that should probably change.

So, today’s SOS post is going to be about design books. More than half of them are from fellow bloggers I admire (Young House Love, Ana White, Design*Sponge, etc). I kind of think that’s even better than buying a book from an author you don’t know yet – I feel like these ladies (& men) have already proven that they know a thing or two about designing creatively – so a book written by one of them is just as trustworthy. All books are available on Amazon (and just fyi, they are affiliate links, which means that if you were to click and buy one of them, Amazon gives me a percentage that feeds my tool fund). 1. I am going to see Ana White at Home Depot tonight in ATL! Can't wait! (I haven't actually built any furniture yet, but as soon as my house has a kitchen and a floor, I am excited to start!)

    1. Um. THANK YOU. I didn't realize she was doing a second night here in Atlanta! I am SO there!
