This week, I was contacted via email by a nice woman named Jenna from a PR company looking to promote the ScotchBlue & You contest they are having. Her email reads:

Hi Amanda,

Hope you are doing well! I bet your readers have a room in their house that’s in desperate need of a makeover and ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape wants to know about it!

ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape and Amy Matthews, host of DIY Network’s Sweat Equity, have launched a nationwide contest – ScotchBlue™ Brand & You: The Sweat Equity Crew – asking homeowners across America to submit a photo or video of a room in their home that’s in dire need of a facelift. One lucky grand prize winner will receive a room makeover valued up to $15,000 as well as an appearance on Sweat Equity with Amy Matthews. Twenty finalists will each receive a $250 Visa Gift Card.

[Your readers can] enter the ScotchBlue™ Brand & You: The Sweat Equity Crew contest by going to http://www.scotchblueandyou.com/. Submissions will be accepted through December 29, 2010. ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tapes are perfect for just about every project. When it’s time to paint, DIYers and pros alike reach for this versatile, reliable line of tapes that yield professional-looking results. ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tapes come in several different varieties so you can choose the tape that’s best for your personal project.

Thanks! Jenna

Well, there you go, dear readers! This contest sounds like a lot of fun, and I hope that you have a room that you would like to enter.

As for me, I think I’m going to stick with FrogTape thanks to the side-by-side comparison I did in May. I’m hesitant to use products that have already disappointed me in the past, but contests, prizes, and freebies are always worthy of passing along!

  1. Hahahaha! That is TOO funny! I got an email from her as well – AND she got my name wrong, too! LOL!!

Although, now I think about it.. it looks like we haven't put our names on our “About” page. Whoops.

  2. This reminded me to check my blog e-mail account, where I found that I also got an e-mail about this contest (also from Jenna, and also addressed to the wrong name)!

But, I suppose it's still nice they want us to promote their contest, even if they don't know our names. :)
