I’m redesigning the guest bedroom. Now that it’s no longer a bedroom slash office, I have space to create a little reading nook – which requires a big, comfy chair and a place to prop my feet up, a small table to rest a drink on, and plenty of light.
It’s official: I suck at keeping plants alive. My brown thumb is just no match for the Georgia heat. But succulents are gorgeous and don’t require as much water. Maybe I should give it one last shot.

My 20-something daughters and I are furnishing their first “grown-up” house, which they'll be living in together, along with a renter (still to be found). We have snagged great deals from Goodwill, the local junk shops, and even the side of the road to find them a dining-room table that seats 10, dining-room chairs, a highboy, a lingerie chest, and several small end tables. Still on the prowl for the perfect side table for the dining room that doesn't overwhelm, but that provides enough storage for serving dishes, linens, extra wine bottles, etc. Still looking for matching, low nightstands for one daughter's low bed. A set of patio furniture at a price we can afford would be great, as there's a sweet deck and gazebo out back without a scrap of furniture on it. It takes patience and perseverance when decorating on a dime!
Wow Juli, you've really been busy!
