Christmas was peaceful and quiet this year.

Christmas Eve dinner at my sister’s

I still tried to make the most of it and take a holiday photo with Charlie while we waited for my younger sister to show up at my parents’ house (because, for once, my hair was that perfect curled-but-relaxed-and-almost-natural-looking thing). With a wiggly dog hopped up on special holiday cookies (and playing with my sister’s two pups), these were about as good as they got.

Oh, who am I kidding? The outtakes, as usual, were even more amusing.

I also sliced my finger open in a completely non-tool-related accident. Well, I guess that’s technically inaccurate… if you believe that wine openers are, in fact, tools. Regardless, I think it’s a pretty good argument for my sticking to beer.

At any rate, I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday! Posts are doing double duty today; I’ve been busy trying to get a few more things done in the kitchen, but I’ll have a small update on the laundry room later this afternoon as well.
