Staycation Day 1: My aunt and uncle arrived in town, and while the intention was to get to work on the kitchen immediately, there was a small snafu. I’ll get into the drama of it later once I’ve stopped swearing.
Instead, Monday consisted of a good deal of brainstorming, more backyard cleanup (fall = pine needles everywhere), and coming up with a game plan for the rest of the week.
I may not have as much time as I thought this week to write post updates until we start making some progress. But the house is as clean as it’s been for a while, so I felt it necessary to add a little somethin’ to the hallway the other day:
It’s a runner that I found on Target clearance in Scottsdale, AZ while I was there for the Homestretch project. Naturally, having a unique experience like that, I thought it might be nice to have a little reminder at home. And the rug is also simply perfect right next to my black and white stairs.
Finally, I wound up spending the evening in a familiar aisle, but buying something totally new. I’m hoping most of it goes up today, so I should have some updates for you by tomorrow.
That’s going to be all for now, but I can’t wait to show you more as we start knocking things off my to-do list. How about you? What are your project goals for the week?
Love the rug! We can wait for the posts–you do what you need to with your time available and family to help. I’ll still be here:) Can’t wait to see the changes and what the heck caused the swearing? You will share, correct?
You are certainly making huge inroads this year with your projects… I don’t know how you do it all given your work, course, and home schedules : -) Last fall, I built a room in our basement that we use for the grooming of our little dogs; this month, I am installing a v-grooved pine ceiling in this room and it’s slow going. Despite all the issues and pain, once the job is finished, it’s always a great feeling of accomplishment! Keep up the great work…
I’m hoping to FINALLY get alllllll the face frames fully stained and touched up here and there so we can get them installed on the body of the bed and start the drawers. Zoe asleep right now which means I should be productive – instead I’m reading blog posts… :)
absolutely LOVE your runner! I’ve been looking for something similar for our guest bathroom… guess I need to make a Target run! ;)
When I was in AZ, the rug was on clearance. I hope you find it!
Ugh -sorry about the cursing. I do love the runner, though! Can’t wait to see what’s next.
I love a good plan of attack when it comes to renovating. I love the runner, I’ve been keeping an eye out for one for the new kitchen but here in Australia! Lisa xo
