If thoughts took up actual space in a house, my tiny abode would be at the risk of exploding. My head and wishlist are crammed full of fun, exciting, conflicting thoughts on what to remove next, what to paint next, and where to begin. Here are just a few of the ideas zipping in and out of my head on a daily basis…

I want to paint the kitchen cabinets white. No, light gray. No, maybe cream…

I never realized there was a paint for my kitchen countertops. Maybe it really is possible. If it’s only temporary, why not paint them something fun? Make them look like cement. Or black. Or turquoise…

The bathroom cabinets could really use painting, but I’d much rather replace them. A potential homeowner probably wants me to replace them too. Home Depot, you hear me? That cabinet needs to go on sale… so I can buy two…

I really need to get cracking on the craft room. I need space to create!

Today, when I get home, I need to run by Lowe’s so I can pick up materials for the console table…

And finish the dog dish bowl so I can at least cross that off the list…

While I’m at the store, I should probably pick up paint samples for the living room… no, wait, I’m still trying to get Scott used to the idea…

Should I paint my stair treads or stain them to match the floor? I think I’ll go with white…

Speaking of my stairs, that mess that the builders created would make for a great storage spot someday. So much wasted space in this house…

I should try to use my clothing steamer to try to remove some of that bathroom wallpaper. Ha, I’ll use stain remover and a clothing steamer. Sheesh, am I remodeling a house or doing laundry? I know which one I’d certainly prefer…

I need to run by JoAnn Fabrics to get some samples for the dining room and bedroom curtains. Prints, definitely. Maybe I’ll even grab some additional print options for pillows…

Wow, my calendar is really full. How am I ever going to get all of this done?

How about you? How many different things are “next” on your to-do list? Are you thinking about each thing step by step, or are you flitting back and forth from project to project like me?

  2. Who knew, right? Yeah, I'm going to pick up some this week and try it out once the weather warms back up again. According to the packaging, it's got the WORST smell and takes three days to dry, so I'm going to need to do it when the doors can stay open. I'll let you know all the dirty details when I try it out.

  3. I often think my head will explode with all the ideas of things I want to do too. I've been thinking about painting my kitchen cabinets (and counters!) for awhile too. Just have to settle on a color …
