Between going up and down a ladder to paint the exterior trim and climbing every other stair for the entire weekend (sometimes with dog), my legs and back are pretty sore.

And adding insult to injury, I also decided that I should try to brave the attic and bring down as many boxes of Christmas decorations as I could before the weekend was over. But first, I had to deal with the fact that I’m only 5’2″ and the pull string for the attic stairs is quite out of reach for my munchkin-like stature. So I improvised by looping a belt around the cord. Simple and effective!

Then I stared up in horror movie-like fashion at the stairs, braved the darkness, and began pulling down boxes.

I managed to do three trips before I gave up. Sore legs or no, going solo with heavy boxes down rickety stairs is not the smartest move. I think I’m going to have to get creative before I ruin my floors or just as worse, fall.

  1. As long as the stairs didn't hit you in the face like in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation… :-)
