The new light in my living room is simply fantastic. Sure, I could say it’s because the sun is setting later, but I can’t get over how much brighter and more cheerful I feel now that the house isn’t a cave from all the tan paint when I walk in the door.
A few weeks ago, I probably wouldn’t have picked up these tulips (well, they weren’t for sale then either, but some other type of flower). It would be too dark by the time I got home to enjoy them. But now I have plenty of time to get home before the sun sets, and the light bouncing off the new wall color lets me work on learning more about my camera. Today’s subject: I picked it up this vase couple months ago at a local shop in Alpharetta, GA – the milky teal color and purple tulips get the spring vibe going in a heartbeat.
My photos still pretty amateurish, but I’m just happy I have this much light to work with at 7 PM.
The living room will be getting a little brighter still. Now that the second coat on the windows are done, I can move on to other things like window casing and curtains (you may have noticed in the last post that I never bothered to take the blinds down and re-paint the insides of the windows – it’s because the insides of the windows will need to be painted white to match the new trim that will go around them). It’s kind of hard to believe that it’s been more than three years since I moved in and am just now feeling like I’m hitting a groove with this house. I know what to do next, which really helps keep the new-project-itis at bay.
…
Well, no, it still totally keeps ideas bouncing around my head. But now they are all for the same room!

Beautiful and light! I love that spring is finally on its way!
Yes I love light and bright too! I too had to get rid of boring beige!
I’m jealous! My house is still 6 different shades & finishes of tan/brown/beige (except for my teal blue powder room) and it is a cave. Which suits MAN just fine (he’d hole up in here for days with the blinds closed & all the lights off!), but I’m a sun-worshipper myself. I’m always opening the blinds, doors and windows to let that lovely light in and alleviate some of the blahs that come with the blah rooms.
I hear ya! I’m loving the non-cave nature of the living room. Now, if only I could find time to clean it =P
I thought the pictures were taken early in the morning while the sun is rising. Indeed you’ve got bright lights there and nice camera.
