Oof. I must say, friends: September really kicked my butt in terms of DIY projects. I feel like I was buzzing from project to project and getting a lot alllllmost to the point where they were ready to share. But as I neared the 75% completion point (new plans! more camper reno stuff! DIY house maintenance advice! CHRISTMAS STUFF!), something else would pop up and another fire had to be put out. I guess all that is to say:

  1. Life happens, and I suppose that’s pretty normal.
  2. I have a LOT of stuff that can be shared soon since I’ve reached the 85-95% mark on a few (let’s face it — am I ever the blogger that gets all the way to 100% finished? Never!) and
  3. Thank goodness that I have this cross stitch side project of mine to give me first-of-the-month deadlines. Sometimes, all ya really need is a baby step in the right direction to get back on track!

A lot of you guys have seen this sugar skull pattern in my library sneak peeks and have been eagerly awaiting the release. So, today is finally the day! I haven’t actually stitched this one myself yet, but I do think it would be a lot of fun to complete. If you stitch it, I’d love to see it (be sure to tag me at @uglyducklingDIY on Instagram!).

A few have asked if I can release the holiday-themed ones early, but I’ve chosen to keep these true to the month that seems most appropriate for them (technically, Día de Los Muertos / Day of the Dead begins on Oct 31st and ends on Nov 2nd this year, so I just picked the earlier month). If you ever want to get my patterns really early, you can always check my Etsy shop. Each pattern is less than a few bucks, so it won’t set you back much if you decide to get a jumpstart on Christmas and 2020 designs.

  1. I’m in the cross stitch library, but I can’t find a link to download the pattern I’m looking at!

    1. The links are all below the thumbnails corresponding to the pattern. If you go back to the library page, you should see a login (subscribe box) and a troubleshooting guide with some screen shots if you’re having issues so you can figure out why you’re not seeing the downloads. It’s difficult to troubleshoot individual computers because things could be blocking within your browser, but I hope that helps!
