Our neighborhood has a ton of kids, and I have really been looking forward to my first Halloween as a stop on the trick-or-treat trail. To make sure the kiddos knew that our house was worth stopping at, Scott decorated our front porch area with candy corn outdoor lights.

It worked like a charm. We got so many visitors last night, I had to stop giving out handfuls of candy and limit it to one per person (which I felt really guilty about). At least I made sure I got the good candy. No popcorn balls at this house!

(Sorry to those who love making popcorn balls, but I promised myself at age ten that I would always hand out what I considered the good stuff:  Butterfinger, Snickers, Jolly Ranchers, etc. I never wanted to hear that telltale pouty “awwww!” from kids walking away from my house.)

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween! And in case you missed it, there’s a sneak peek in the above photo of another one of our weekend projects. More about that later this week.

  1. That's one of our vows too- absolutely no bubble gum or Mary Janes here, strictly the good stuff!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you did.
