The last three releases have been pretty specific to that month (April Showers, May Flowers, June Bug/Beetle) and now I’m ready for something a little less July and more summer.

There were so many options, but ultimately, a ripe red strawberry felt like the perfect design to mark the sweetness of summer.

Strawberry cross stitch

I think this one is a great “intermediate” project for beginners who are ready to do a project with a little more complexity. I tend to think of “beginner” projects as ones that are small in size and have just a few colors… to get used to the stitching, rows, counting, etc. But at 21 colors, this pattern breaks that up a bit. Despite being small, it contains a lot of color variation for the sake of looking more real. But it’s not too big, so you can complete it within a shorter timeframe than your typical photorealistic patterns (like the Blue Space pattern from two years ago).

About this Strawberry Cross Stitch Pattern

This tiny but photorealistic image of a strawberry is as fun to stitch as it is to look at.

  • Full counted cross stitches only
  • DMC floss colors: 21
  • Size: approximately 3.6 in. x 3.8 in. (9.1 cm x 9.6 cm)
  • 50 x 53 stitches

In other news, this is my very FIRST month of the new membership site, NeedleSpark! And I’m SOOOO pumped. A separate announcement will be posted about it, but those of you that love cross stitch will get even more great patterns to choose from. Unlike typical cross stitch sites that charge per pattern (which can add up pretty quickly), this is based on a membership service that gives you access to ALL of the patterns I’ve ever designed. Each month, you can download patterns that match your style and taste and complete at your own pace. And how fun is that name and logo?!?!

More pattern releases in 2023 will be related to collections I release over there. For example, you may see a preview of an insect pattern like my June beetle, and you can get the rest of the insect collection as a member if you want more. More collections, more patterns, bonuses, courses… LOTS more (I’m even brainstorming some cool products too). It’s win-win and keeps things better organized in my head (which, lets face it, is a large tangled knot as it is).

This pattern is one such idea for a collection that I’ve been working to expand on: food. Based on feedback I have gotten from you guys in the past, the food ones are a hit for kitchen cross stitch designs in particular. Over time, I’ll add more and more to this collection every few months as well as other collections (one of my current favorites is Neon). In fact, I’d love it if you took a look at the new site, even if you’re not yet a member (previews for most of the collections are already available to see, but you’ll have to be a paid member to actually be able to download them).

Alrighty, enough of my little self-promotional plug (I worked so hard on it and I’m so proud of the new patterns, I can’t help it!)… a more in-depth look at the new site will be coming later this month! Enjoy and happy stitching.

    1. Hi Carole! Sorry to hear you had trouble with it, that’s my fault (I thought I had updated the link properly). I’ve got it all fixed now so you should be able to download it whenever you access the library again.
